Robinhood has spent more than a decade making investing simple and accessible. Now, Robinhood is extending that philosophy to a new generation of financial products built on onchain infrastructure.

With the launch of Robinhood Earn and Robinhood Chain, eligible users can earn yield on dollar backed stablecoin USDG, access tokenized assets, and participate in an expanding ecosystem of onchain financial products, all from the Robinhood app. Rather than asking users to navigate separate crypto applications or learn how blockchain works, Robinhood brings these capabilities into the familiar experience millions of customers already use to manage their portfolios.

Behind that experience is a fully self-custodial wallet powered by Privy. Users maintain ownership of their assets without managing private keys, downloading another wallet, or moving funds between applications.

Expanding global access to financial markets

Onchain infrastructure makes entirely new financial experiences possible while expanding access to markets that have traditionally been limited by geography, market hours, or financial intermediaries. Until now, accessing these opportunities has often required learning unfamiliar tools and workflows designed for crypto-native users.

Robinhood's vision is different. Rather than asking users to adapt to blockchain technology, the company has integrated onchain financial products directly into their existing product experience, allowing users to access these capabilities through the same interface they already know and trust.

The result is an experience that feels familiar while expanding access to a broader set of financial opportunities.

Seamless onchain earning through self-custody

Robinhood Earn is the first decentralized lending product available directly through the Robinhood app, demonstrating how onchain infrastructure can power entirely new financial products without introducing additional complexity for users.

Eligible users can earn yield on their USDG through a self-custodial wallet embedded directly into the Robinhood app. Rather than moving funds between multiple applications or managing an external wallet, users simply access Earn from the same place they already monitor their portfolio.

Under the hood, deposits are supplied to decentralized lending markets powered by Morpho, an onchain lending protocol. Robinhood combines the capital efficiency of onchain lending with safeguards designed for mainstream users, including insurance procured through Lloyd's of London and RELM to protect covered losses in the event of cyber or smart contract exploits.

The result brings together the advantages of onchain finance, including competitive yield and self-custody, with the simplicity, security, and trust users expect from Robinhood.

A foundation for the next generation of financial products

Robinhood Earn is only one example of what's possible when wallets become part of the application itself.

The same wallet infrastructure serves as the foundation for Robinhood's broader onchain ecosystem, including tokenized stocks, decentralized trading, perpetual futures, AI-powered trading agents, and future applications built on Robinhood Chain. Instead of introducing separate onboarding flows or requiring users to manage multiple wallets, Robinhood can launch new financial products on top of a consistent account layer that users already trust.

This reflects a broader shift across financial services. As more assets move onchain, wallets are becoming the foundation for modern financial experiences, enabling developers to bring new capabilities to market faster while giving users ownership of their assets through a familiar interface.

The early traction has been significant. Just two weeks after launch, Robinhood Chain had already seen more than $80M deposited across the ecosystem, underscoring demand for financial products that combine the openness of onchain infrastructure with the simplicity of a consumer fintech experience.

Where Privy comes in

Robinhood uses Privy to power the wallet infrastructure behind Robinhood Earn, providing a secure foundation for its expanding suite of onchain financial products.

Rather than building and maintaining separate wallet systems for every new product, Robinhood can introduce new capabilities on top of the same trusted account layer. Whether launching tokenized stocks, decentralized lending, perpetual futures, or AI-powered trading experiences, users interact through a consistent experience while maintaining ownership of their assets.

With Robinhood Wallet available in more than 120 countries, that same foundation helps Robinhood bring modern financial products to users around the world through a single, familiar interface.

Looking ahead

Robinhood's launch reflects a broader transformation in financial services. As more financial assets move onchain, the wallet is becoming the account layer for modern financial products, connecting users to an expanding range of secure, programmable experiences without changing the way they interact with their money.

We're proud to help Robinhood bring that future to millions of users.
