Most payroll still works the same way: employees work, then get paid on a fixed schedule days or weeks later. For global teams, those pay cycles can come with additional delays and complexity as money moves across borders.

Zebec takes a different approach. Its enterprise payroll platform lets businesses stream compensation continuously, so employees can access their earnings as they work rather than waiting for payday.

Employers can open, pause, or adjust payment streams as needed, while integrations with existing HCM systems make real-time payroll easier to bring into the workflows businesses already use. Today, Zebec serves 260 enterprise clients and 15,000 employees, processing $53 million in payroll volume each month.

From getting paid to using your pay

Getting paid in real time is only part of the experience. Employees also need an easy way to access and use what they earn.

Zebec connects the two: once paid, employees can receive funds directly into a wallet, move them to a bank account, or use them through Zebec’s consumer products.

The Zebec SuperApp brings these experiences into one place. Users can receive and send funds, manage their wallets and Zebec Cards, track their money, and make payments across iOS, Android, and web.

The result is a more connected experience from employer to employee: businesses get a new way to run payroll, while employees can go from earning their pay to spending, saving, or moving it without waiting for a traditional pay cycle to catch up.

Where Privy comes in

Payroll is one of the most fundamental financial experiences, so accessing your pay should feel simple, regardless of how it works under the hood.

With Privy, Zebec can embed wallets directly into its products, so users can receive and manage digital assets without first setting up a standalone wallet or learning how crypto infrastructure works. Users get ownership of their assets, while Zebec controls the experience around them.

“Our goal is to make digital assets practical for everyday financial activity, not ask users to become crypto experts. Privy gives us the wallet infrastructure to make that possible, while letting us focus on building better payroll and financial experiences.” — Simon Babakhani, CEO of Zebec

That lets Zebec spend less time building and maintaining wallet infrastructure and more time on the experience that matters: helping businesses pay people better and giving employees more control over the money they earn.

Looking ahead

Zebec is now focused on bringing real-time payroll to more businesses around the world.

Over the next 6–12 months, the team plans to onboard more enterprises, build new partnerships, and continue expanding the products employees can use once they’re paid. That includes new capabilities across the Zebec SuperApp that make it easier to move, manage, and use digital assets.

For Zebec, real-time payroll is the starting point: giving businesses a better way to pay global teams, and giving employees more flexibility over when and how they use the money they earn.

Privy is excited to keep building alongside Zebec as they bring real-time payroll to more businesses and employees around the world.
